1. Who We Are
Mahaseel ("we", "us", "our") is a Palestinian agricultural marketplace app that connects farmers and buyers. You can reach us at support@mahaseel.store.
2. Data We Collect
Account Information
- Name — used to identify you to other users
- Email address — used for authentication and important account notices
- Phone number — used for delivery coordination and WhatsApp contact (optional)
- Location / city — used to display nearby farmers and products
- Profile photo — shown on your public profile (optional)
- Role — whether you are a farmer or a buyer
Farmer-Specific Data
- Farm name, years of experience, and farm description
- Product listings including name, price, quantity, category, and product photos
- Order history and earnings summary
Buyer-Specific Data
- Delivery address and delivery phone number (per order)
- Order history and cart contents
Automatically Collected Data
- Device push token — used to send order and message notifications to your device
- Crop images — photos you submit to the AI Disease Scanner. These are processed in real time and are not stored after analysis is complete
3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account
- To display your profile and listings to other users of the marketplace
- To process and track orders between farmers and buyers
- To send you push notifications about orders, messages, and account activity
- To operate the AI crop disease scanner and return results to you
- To resolve disputes, enforce our Terms of Service, and prevent fraud
- To improve the app based on aggregate (non-personal) usage patterns
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Mahaseel:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Data is stored on servers in the EU. Supabase Privacy Policy
- Google OAuth — optional sign-in via Google account. If you use Google sign-in, your Google profile data (name, email, avatar) is shared with us. Google Privacy Policy
- Railway — hosts the AI inference server that powers the crop disease scanner. Crop images are sent to Railway for analysis and are not stored after processing.
- Expo / React Native — the app framework used to build Mahaseel. Push notification tokens are managed via Expo's notification service.
5. AI Disease Scanner — Important Notice
The disease scanner uses a machine learning model to identify common crop diseases. Results are for guidance and educational purposes only and do not constitute certified agricultural advice. The model may produce incorrect results (false positives or false negatives). Always consult a qualified agronomist or the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture before applying any treatment to your crops. Mahaseel is not liable for any crop damage or financial loss resulting from reliance on scanner results.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share your data:
- With other Mahaseel users, to the extent necessary to complete a transaction (e.g. a buyer sees a farmer's name and phone number for delivery coordination)
- With the third-party services listed above, to operate the app
- When required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Mahaseel users
7. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or dispute-resolution purposes.
8. Your Rights
- Access — you can view your profile data at any time from within the app
- Correction — you can update your profile information in the app settings
- Deletion — to delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@mahaseel.store
- Data export — you may request a copy of your data by contacting us
9. Children's Privacy
Mahaseel is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. Continued use of Mahaseel after changes means you accept the updated policy.
